Artist of the Month - Kerri Palangio - From the Vine
Posted by Gary Groszman on

Kerri Palangio is a Toronto artist, born in North Bay, Ontario. Although her initial degree was in Biochemistry, she graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Drawing and Painting Department. Her paintings are inspired by nature, the photographic process, and very often from her previous work experience in the scientific laboratory and the electron microscope bioimagery produced there.
Kerri likes to experiment with materials, tools, and techniques, looking for surprising and ambiguous results. She is fascinated with the unintended outcomes that occur while painting as they seem to reveal the subconscious mind at work.
